Anshula Yuvaraj, Founder & CEO
Anshula Yuvaraj, MBA in HR & Graduate in Industrial psychology from University of Allahabad, has worked in the top echelons of the corporate world as HR professional and helped emerging & established businesses to strategize their growth and expansion. Anshula who has been acknowledged for her sharp business acumen & understanding of human behaviour all through her successful stint of 23 years with companies like Wipro, Publicis, P&O Nedlloyd and others, decided to follow her calling and turned to the social sector.
She worked as advisor to board with a charitable Eye Care Hospital in Bihar to experience nuances of the social sector, and set up Vinusto as a brand of Viraasat Ventures Private Limited in 2019.
As a Social entrepreneur Anshula’s intent has been to make a material impact on the lives of craftsmen in the handloom sector. Her team which has likeminded NIIFT designers and marketing professionals works with around 250 handloom weavers in Chanderi & Sambalpur Clusters and craftsmen from Jaipur.
On a personal note, Anshula was born to parents who were Academicians from IITs, and she spent her childhood amidst books and eclectic discussions about Science, politics, and social issues. In an environment where honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and knowledge were held above all, and with parents who passionately believed in gender equality, Anshula got an enriched childhood and upbringing different from other girls her age. With a mother who was amongst few women Engineers in early 60s, Anshula says, having a career and efforts to create an impact, was a given.
Priyanka Jha, Fashion Designer
Priyanka, a graduate from NIFT, joined Vinusto team after working with Design Houses in Delhi. She has exposure to designing couture, pret and luxury pret collections, customizing designs basis body type and preferences, handling fashion shows and celebrity clients. Her core competence lies in Indian & fusion designs, garment construction, surface development, fashion illustrations, draping. She feels that online retail is the future and fashion must adapt to its pace.
Priyanka developed her interest in design early in childhood, watching her aunt sew clothes for friends and neighbors. The art of cutting, stitching and bringing life to a fabric fascinated her. She learnt the skills of sizing, pattern making, and sewing, in an environment which made her naturally frugal and focused on what we now call “sustainable fashion”. She eventually joined NIFT to pursue the career of her dreams and that’s how her story as a Fashion Designer began.
She feels connected to the social cause Vinusto stands for, she says “I love developing surfaces, playing with complex patterns and their constructions. I am very passionate about Indian handicraft and Indian wear. I aspire to work with Indian silhouettes, handicraft and embroideries, as these are my core interests because for me the most diverse form of fashion lies in the traditional roots of my country’.
Kanchi Rathore, Fashion Design Consultant
Kanchi is a graduate from NIFT, Chennai. She passed out in 2013 and has been working in clothing exports sector since then. Her key skills are being experimental in fabric textures and treatments, embroideries, and modern cuts in western wear. Has an understanding of competitive market trends and cost analysis of a product.
She, as a kid had a keen interest in apparels and could visualize cuts and designs in her head. Over the period, this instinct led her to pursue fashion design as a career. Today, she is happy doing what she always coveted
Working as a design consultant for Vinusto, helps her get a different perspective towards the domestic apparel industry and a chance to use Indian weaves and crafts in her designs. She also feels gratified to be contributing to a social cause by helping handloom weavers, through her designs.
